Be part of this longstanding movement to preserve, protect, and enhance the value of the Black Church’s influence and involvement in the United Methodist Church (UMC). Below you can find more information about our different membership levels.
1 – General
We are members of a great church that has the opportunity to be better. As Black United Methodists we have a responsibility to ensure the UMC is authentically inclusive. Become a member and let your voice be heard for $35 per year.
There will always be a need for fresh ideas and perspectives. Continuing your educational Journey affords discounted membership to SCJ BMCR. Individuals who are in undergrad or seminary studies can become members for $25 per year.
It is never too early to begin advocating for the needs of Black people within the UMC. Young People ages 12-18 have the opportunity to give voice to their concerns in the United Methodist Church. Membership at this level is billed annually at $25.
United Methodists who are not of Black Ancestry have the opportunity to join in the work of SCJ BMCR. Associate Membership give you voice in SCJ BMCR meetings. Membership at this level is billed annually at $30.
There is strength in our numbers and collective voices. Local members and churches come together to form a local caucus to advocate for the needs of Black people in their annual conference. Local caucus dues are $700 per year
